To register to vote online OR to update your current address, do so through the DMV Electronic Voter Registration Application.

To register you will need:

  • Your most recent New York State DMV issued drivers license, permit or Non-Driver ID
  • the ZIP Code currently on record with the DMV
  • the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN)

Online registration must be submitted at least 25 days before election day.

Register By Mail

To register by mail, visit the New York State Board of Elections website to download a Voter Registration Form. The form provides the mailing address for your local Board of Elections.

Registration by mail must be postmarked at least 25 days before election day.
